Alpha Delta Omega Chapter History

Alpha Delta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. was organized on October 9, 1927. The charter was signed by National President, Pauline Puryear, in December, 1927. As a result of the 1927 Boule ruling, graduates and undergraduates had to be separated as chapters. Alpha Delta Omega was separated from Pi Chapter of Fisk University. Today, the Chapter boasts over 200 members and own their own sorority house, The Ivy Center of Nashville. The Ivy Center of Nashville was built and the mortgage was burned after five (5) years. The Chapter’s meetings are held at the house but the building also serves the community as a place to host social activities. The Ivy Center Foundation of Nashville, Inc. serves as the charitable arm of the sorority.
